Heartbreak is something I have been dealing with for years. Letting go has been the biggest challenge. I have tried many things to move forward from my past. My first love. I decided to try an express my feelings through art. I was nervous to even try. I was afraid that it was what I was going to create was not going to look good. But I decided that that didn't matter. I wanted to try and move on and I had to just get over possibly failing and just do it.
It felt liberating to create and just pour my emotions into it. I felt like I was finally addressing what was going inside. I didn't care what anyone thought about my art. The fears and thoughts of, "Does this look right? Is this even art?" vanished. I just wanted to draw it out. I continued to reflect on the good and the bad from my breakup and captured it the best way I knew how.
I took a break after I create a handful of pieces. I wasn't sure if I wanted to share them with anyone. But I felt like someone might want to see them. Someone might resinate with what I have been feeling too. Maybe I needed to share them. I debated with the idea of putting them into a collection to be viewed and wondered what would be the best way to do it. I started collecting different elements to include in the project.
After completing the project I wondered what if the one who broke my heart saw everything I created. In my heart, I don't want him to feel guilty. I don't want him to feel sadden by it all. I know that the breakup effected us both. Because it's a breakup, after all. I want him to know I have forgiven him. He is a kind person and someone I have been happy to have met and dated. The pieces I created...I can't help but feel the way I felt from it all...I decided to share the project. My feelings from the effects of my broken heart. I wanted others to know that it's okay not to be okay.
So that made me decide to invite others to submit their own creations from the effects of heartbreak. Heartbreak that was not only caused by broken relationships, but of all different kinds. To be an expansion of what I created. I want to encourage others to create art in ways to heal from heartbreak they might be going through. I don't know if anyone really will...but I hope that they know that there is someone out there who will listen and they are not alone.
Thank you to those who have been encouraging and for listening when I needed to talk to someone. It means a lot. Thank you Ben, for being understanding and loving me for who I am with all my flaws. Thank you Lord for always being never changing and loving me unconditionally.
This post is a lot longer than I wanted it to be, but there you have it. You can view SIDE EFFECTS: loss of appetite and excessive tears HERE.
I have a NEW Kickstarter project! I am excited to launch my new pin design, Bad Parenting. If you grew up in the 90s, you are likely to have owned a virtual pet. Tamagotchis were the best little pet! You had to feed them every 30 seconds, play with them, discipline them, and keep them happy 24/7. If you didn't, well...it would die pretty quickly.
My pin is inspired by the Tamagotchi digital pets. I am excited to have it made so I can remember the good old days of the only stress I had at the age of 7 was did my Tamagotchi get feed. haha
You can follow the link HERE to make a pledge for your enamel pin! And spread the word! With your pledge and your support, we can get this pin made!

I discovered this cool website a couple months ago. Spoonflower! Have you heard of it? It is an awesome site where artists can sell patterns on fabric, wallpaper and gift wrap. You can buy unique and original fabric there. It's awesome!
I just opened a little shop on Spoonflower. I've already have a handful of designs, including Holiday ones!
My favorite one is my unicorn gingerbread pattern. =} I really would love to make some cute bows with it or a cute red and blue apron.
I've been continuing working on miscellaneous projects that you can see on my Instagram, LizCraftIllustrations!
Let me know in the comments what you think about my Spoonflower shop. :)
Hola! Happy Sunday!
I have been painting and designing since the last post I made. Blood sweat and tears have allowed me to make some new material. I am excited to share with you!
If you haven't already, follow me on Instagram. I am always posting regularly. :D
I have been working on so many projects. There is just so much I want to do! "OOOO!! I want to design enamel pins!!" and "Oh wow! I should make stickers! That's cool!" and then, "I should get into sewing!" That pretty much sums up what goes on in my head every day. And then I'm left with a bunch of projects at once! But I enjoy it because it keeps me busy and not bored of the same old things.
So, what I'm trying to say is I've taken a break from illustrating bird and flower cards to illustrate Christmas and Holiday cards. I LOVE how they are turning out and I hope you are too! I have a couple of my cards available on my Society6 shop!
I am continuing to make amazing Christmas cards that hope you will love. What would you love to see me paint? Comment below! Follow me on Insta!
I've been trying to post daily on my Instagram page. You will see all my art first before I place them on my website or shop! I share doodles, sketches, and all of my watercolor illustrations on my page. Be sure to follow @Lizcraftillustrations on Instagram.
I have been creating some lovely bird drawings with a touch of watercolor. I am loving how they are turning out. They are a collection of for mid western birds of North America. I would like to create a collection of mid western flowers too. What flowers would you like to see me illustrate?
Patterns are so pretty! There are so many to choose from. There are patterns of almost anything for everything. You can get fabric or wrapping paper for any occasion. Spoonflower offers a variety of designs and they are all made by amazing artists.
I've decided to open my own Spoonflower shop! I am super excited. I just figured how to create patterns in Illustrator and I can't stop making them! A friend of mine suggested I offer them for sale on Spoonflower.
They will soon be available to purchase on fabric, wallpaper, or gift wrap but you can see what I've created so far, and save your favorites!
Follow the link to my shop here.
I've been working on a variety of things. I like to keep a few projects going at the same time so I'm not stuck doing the same thing every single day. :P So be on the look out for more cool things! You can purchase my art in my Society6 shop too!
I am super duper stoked to announce that my pin, You Suck, has bun fully funded!! I was blown away how so many backers backed my project. Heck, I was surprised to find at least one person interested.
It really kept me encouraged throughout the whole Kickstarter project. There was at least one person that was not a friend or family member that loved my pin enough to pledge for one. <3 I am also thrilled to see my first Kickstarter project be successful!
In the future, I hope to fund more pin projects. Like I mentioned before in my last post, I really love pins and patches. They are just so fun and expressive! I hope to at last make four different ones. In the mean time, my designs will start as stickers.
Thank you for visiting my page and for those who support me in my art career.
Enamel pins are so cute! There are so many kinds. From ones that are fun shapes and animals to pop culture and witty sayings! Each with their own personality. It's no wonder they have become so popular. It is such a fun way to express yourself. You can put them on a jacket, backpack, shirt...just about anything that is fabric.
I started my own Kickstarter campaign to raise mons for my own pin design. I think it is pretty rad. I only have 10 DAYS LEFT!! I know...I regret not keeping up with my blog/website. Otherwise you would have known a lot sooner. Nevertheless, there is still time to pre-order my pin!
Oh right, I forgot. You will have to see my pin first. *face palm.
You can see my awesome pin design below. I love to create witty or punny designs. My design is called, "You Suck" because it is a ICEE drink and you suck it to drink it so. ha ha. get it? YOU...SUCK...?? haha. I'm so lame but I bet I made you smile. :)
This pin will be 30 mm is length and it will have red glitter!! It was inspired by the ICEE drink drinks that my little bro and I use to get at Kmart. I am shocked that Kmart is still around. I have a blue light special over here! Awesome glittery pins!! Please tell me you know about blue light specials.
So go make a pledge and get your pin! I also am offering You Suck stickers and an original wallpaper for your mobile device! Click here to see my project.
Thanks for the support!
