Observing Franz Marc's Art

Wow! I'm so thrilled with the results of this project. Students from Mr. Parr's 4th grade class worked so well together, were engaged in the project, and did a phenomenal job using the oil pastels to create their puzzle pieces. Shout out to Mr. Parr! Thank you for letting me observe your art classes. I enjoyed every minute of it and thanks for giving me advice and answering my art questions.

The project was to do an observation drawing of a "puzzle piece" that was a piece of a large photo of the painting, Blue Horse 1 by Franz Marc. After the students completed their puzzle piece, the pieces were put together to create the whole painting!

You can download the lesson here!

(because of the small number of students in the class I asked friends outside of the classroom to help complete the project. Otherwise, there would be giant holes in the painting and we can't have that. no no no.)

~Peace!

I am an artist who enjoys the outdoors and living in Michigan where I can live in all four seasons in one day. I love cake or anything that is sweet!
